"SEMPER VIGILANS" [ALWAYS VIGILANT]
United States Civil Air Patrol "Performing Missions for America"

Formed on December 1st, 1941, the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. CAP is a nonprofit organization with approximately 1,500 squadrons, 550 aircraft, 1,000 vehicles, and 64,000 adult and youth volunteers. CAP conducts 90% of search and rescue flights within the continental U.S.; however, "Performing Missions for America" involves much more than flying on missions. In fact, the majority of CAP volunteers are not aircrew. We are a team of professionals performing a wide variety of important roles in support of CAP's three primary missions:

Aerospace Education           Cadet Programs             Emergency Services

London Bridge Composite Squadron 501 is a composite unit consisting of Cadets (12 to 18 years old) and Senior Members (18 years and older). Our core values are Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence, and Respect! Many of our cadets pursue careers in the military, attend U.S. military academies, become pilots, or enter a variety of aerospace related fields as a direct result of their CAP volunteer experience. We actively participate in community events, air and ground team SAR training and missions, cadet orientation flights, leadership training, aerospace and STEM education, radio communications training, and much more.

If you are looking for a challenging way to serve your local community, state, and nation; come visit us during our Wednesday meetings (6:30pm to 8:30pm) and find out how you can join the Civil Air Patrol and be part of the Squadron 501 team!
